Grapevine is located between Dallas and Fort Worth and was founded in the late 1840’s. While cotton was Grapevine’s primary crop during the early 1900’s, the city eventually sprouted 25,000 acres of cantaloupe farms. In fact, back in the 70’s, the Grapevine was known as ” The Cantaloupe Capital of the World.” The municipality is also located next to the Grapevine Lake; a sizable reservoir created by the Army Corps of Engineers back in 1952. It remains a popular recreation area today. Some notable past residents include Norah Jones, Demi Lovato, and Post Malone.
