One of our favorite new places to visit is Great Wolf Lodge on LaGrange, Georgia. We love to travel and explore new fun destinations and this was an absolute wonderful experience for us all! Our weekly schedule is so busy with work, sports, chores, and all the other things that make daily lives so hectic. Being able to make family time together a priority is super important to us and what better way to do this than to take weekend trips and vacations together!
Last month we had the opportunity to visit Great Wolf Lodge in LaGrange, Georgia. I can’t tell you how excited the boys were about this trip. They have been begging to go to Great Wolf Lodge ever since stumbling across some online videos of the property. We are big fans of waterparks but had no idea it was so much more!
Great Wolf Lodge is a massive indoor water park that has 17 locations across the U.S. The LaGrange, Georgia location is about five hours away from our home, which is an easy distance for us to travel to for a little weekend fun. There is also so many more fun indoor activities that made our stay even more enjoyable. It is truly a one-of-a-kind family resort experience with so many things to do under one roof…themed rooms, attractions, entertainment, and several dining options, which create an easy and memorable getaway. Keep reading to see why we loved it so much.
First off let’s talk about the: Accommodations
We fell in love with the fun themed rooms! The room accommodations at Great Wolf Lodge are some of the most spacious and family-friendly options I’ve seen. Even at a basic level, the rooms are huge, have plenty of storage, and comfy beds. The boys loved the nature backgrounds on the walls. They pretended to be wolves in a forest and it was just the cutest thing ever! The beds are so comfortable and the couches even pull out to make cozy beds. There is so much space! Plenty of areas to unwind, watch your favorite TV shows, eat a snack at the tables, enjoy a cup of coffee while looking out at the beautiful views, and just relax while taking in all the fun.
Next up:Â The Wolf Pass
I would definitely suggest to look into the Wolf Pass if you plan on trying to enjoy all the activities at Great Wolf Lodge. It will definitely keep your kids busy the entire weekend. It includes MagiQuest, the MagiQuest wand, Bowling, Rock Climbing Wall, Mini golf, Ropes Course, credits to the arcade, Ice Cream from Baskin Robbins, and even Mining for gems!
If you were to pay for any of those things individually you’ll end up spending a whole lot more. If you think your kids want to do even a couple of the activities, the Wolf Pass is definitely worth it!
We enjoyed spending lots of time at the arcade and MagiQuest games (an interactive game where players use magic wands to find treasures around the resort. These were our favorite things to do each night after a yummy dinner.
Now for our favorite part:Â The Water Park
We absolutely loved the indoor water park with so many fun slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, obstacle courses, a water basketball area, a toddler pool and more! There is over 80,000 square feet of water park on the property, which makes for a full day of fun! We spent the majority of our first 2 days at the water park, and it was a great choice!
The idea of an indoor water park is such a wonderful idea! You don’t have to worry about the time of year or what the weather will be. You don’t even have to worry about a sunburn! You just bring yourself and that is all you need for fun. There are plenty of towels so no need to even bring those. There is a delicious full snack bar with the best burgers and chicken fingers, which was a plus for us since that is all our boys will eat.
There is seriously something for everyone at the water park, including shallow areas and small slides for the little ones and more adventure seeking slides for the thrill seekers. We loved the family slides and the lazy river! The wave pool was also a big hit! The boys had the best time in the tree house water fort with the HUGE water tipping bucket! I also really liked that there were Lifeguards and staff members all around the area to ensure safety.
And last….my favorite: The Outdoor Pool Area
This was the perfect place for parents to take a little much needed break. The cabanas were so cozy and relaxing. One of my absolute favorite things was the full bar! A yummy pina colada by the pool is hard to beat! The boys had a blast swimming and splashing around while meeting so many friends. The pool was so big, which made it perfect for our little fishies. We all had so much fun soaking up some sun together.
Bottom Line
This was one of our favorite little family getaways. There was so much to do and so much fun for everyone. A weekend is the perfect amount of time to spend at Great Wolf Lodge. We have been able to do a few family travels this year and this is one that the boys just can’t stop talking about! They are already planning our next trip and wanting to bring some friends next time. That says a lot! We think it is wonderful that there are so many locations across the U. S., which makes it very accessible for a weekend getaway. It is great to be able to travel by car and having something within driving distance saves so much money for our family. We would definitely 100% recommend it!
